I chose this standard: LAFS.1112.RI.3.7. This standard asks that students synthesize and assess diverse information from various sources, spanning different media and formats, including visual and quantitative elements, along with written content. This process aims to effectively address a specific question or solve a problem. I feel prepared to implement this standard by incorporating a variety of multimedia resources, such as videos, graphs, and articles, into lesson plans to expose students to diverse information formats. Design assignments that require students to analyze and integrate information from multiple sources, fostering critical thinking skills. Provide guidance on how to effectively evaluate and synthesize information in both written and visual forms to address questions or solve problems.
Being a proficient Internet searcher as a teacher is crucial for several reasons. It enables educators to access a vast array of educational resources, stay updated on the latest teaching methodologies, and find diverse materials to cater to the needs of their students. Proficient internet searching also allows teachers to locate reliable information, enhance lesson plans with multimedia content, and foster a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
Among the Internet searching skills introduced this week, evaluating the credibility of online sources and refining search queries for better results are likely to be the most frequently used skills. These skills contribute to ensuring that the information gathered is accurate, reliable, and relevant to the educational context.
